ROOT is a local, non-political organization established on January 1, 2006. Founded during a general meeting at Katlagari Bazar, the organization was launched with the support of villagers and community leaders from across the Shailkupa Upazilla in the Jhenaidah District.
Driven by the collective will of rural residents, ROOT was created to address pressing socio-economic challenges. By fostering a culture of mutual understanding and shared responsibility, the organization provides a collaborative platform—an “umbrella”—where community members can engage in free discussion, participate in decision-making, and implement effective, grassroots solutions.
